Delegitimasi Kepemimpinan Daud dalam Narasi Pemberontakan Absalom: Analisis Dialektika Teo-Politik dan Implikasinya bagi Kepemimpinan Gereja Kontemporer
Abstract
Contemporary church leadership crises frequently stem from the dominance of charismatic authority that neglects ethical accountability. Utilizing a literature review alongside narrative-exegetical and theo-political dialectical approaches, this article analyzes the narrative of Absalom’s rebellion against David in 2 Samuel 11–16 to dissect the crisis of Davidic leadership legitimacy. The novelty of this study lies in formulating the David–Absalom dialectic as a critical framework to evaluate ecclesiastical governance. The findings demonstrate that David’s moral scandal triggered leadership paralysis, which delegitimized his spiritual authority while paving the way for Absalom’s populist-pragmatic leadership, a figure socially responsive yet void of ethical integrity. This study critiques the tendency to sacralize church leaders and asserts that divine anointing grants no moral immunity. Practical implications urge contemporary churches to transition from figurative patronage toward a divine leadership system grounded in justice, transparency, and public ethical accountability
